12 of Lingnan University's distinguished scholars in 2024 Top ScholarGPS Rankings

Twelve of Lingnan University’s leading scholars have been recognised in the 2024 ScholarGPS Rankings, putting them among the top 0.5 per cent of scholars worldwide. This welcome acknowledgement by ScholarGPS, the international academic analysis platform, commends the outstanding achievements of Lingnan scholars, and highlights the university's commitment to supporting innovative academic research.

Twelve distinguished Lingnan scholars are in the 2024 Top ScholarGPS Rankings.

The Lingnan recipients honoured are:

  • Prof Sam Kwong Tak-wu, Associate Vice-President (Strategic Research) and J.K. Lee Chair Professor of Computational Intelligence, for “Overall (All Fields) Lifetime” and “Overall (All Fields) Prior 5 Years”
  • Prof Chen Xi, Dean and Chair Professor of School of Interdisciplinary Studies, for “Overall (All Fields) Lifetime” and “Overall (All Fields) Prior 5 Years”
  • Prof Richard M. Walker, Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Government and International Affairs and Director of the Lingnan University Institute for Advanced Study, for “Overall (All Fields) Lifetime”  
  • Prof Darrell Patrick Rowbottom, Professor of the Department of Philosophy and RGC Senior Research Fellow, for “Arts and Humanities Lifetime”
  • Prof Xie Haoran, Associate Dean of the School of Data Science and Professor of the Division of Artificial Intelligence, for “Overall (All Fields) Prior 5 Years”
  • Prof Tang Xiaopeng, Assistant Professor (Presidential Early Career Scholar) of the Science Unit, for “Overall (All Fields) Prior 5 Years”
